I am running again for the Central Texas Climbing Committee. After 20 years of service, why quite
now? Originally I was interested in maintaining an open door policy to rock climbing in the park by
keeping our access open and establishing a working relationship with the park management. My past
climbing involvements have varied from board membership on the Access Fund, Conservation
Committee chair for the American Alpine Club, president of the Friends of Enchanted Rock, and grant
writing for the Trail Project, Summit Trail brochure and many others. All of these benefited Enchanted
Rock over the years. I am keenly interested in the present and future of climbing at Enchanted Rock. I
want to work with the park management and staff to keep a solid relationship between TPWD and the
climbing community. The future of climbing at Enchanted Rock is very important to me as I plan to
enjoy climbing in the park for years to come. I strive to continue to be involved in the evolution of
climbing in the park both to maintain the existing routes and to add appropriate new routes through
the application process. The Granite Gripper has become an additional responsibility of the CTCC which
raises substantial funds each year to contribute to capital improvements to Enchanted Rock. I want to
continue to be involved in the climbing management of Enchanted Rock. I look to the climbing
community for your support.
